Internship at Curaxuan
Curaxuan is an indie game studio focused on creating artistically driven, narrative-rich experiences. We are currently developing a story-rich puzzle adventure game “Go Groundshel!” featuring a lovable groundhog girl as the protagonist, blending hand-drawn illustration with pixel art aesthetics. Our demo is already live on Steam, and we are entering the next phase of iteration and promotion.
We are looking for a Game Pixel Art Intern and a Game UI Programming Intern (Unity) to join us!
Game Pixel Art Intern 游戏像素美术实习生
Responsibilities
- Create pixel art assets consistent with the game’s visual style
- Design and animate sprites for NPCs, props, expressions, and visual effects
- Collaborate closely with design and programming teams to implement assets in Unity
- Iterate based on gameplay and narrative needs
Requirements
- Familiarity with pixel art tools (Aseprite, Photoshop, etc.)
- Strong sense of style, color, and visual storytelling
- Passion for indie games and game culture
- Good communication skills (Discord, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Ability to participate in playtesting and give thoughtful feedback
- Current student or recent graduate (Art, Design, or related fields preferred)
Eligibility & Work Authorization
- We welcome international students eligible for CPT/OPT
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Please note that we are not able to provide H-1B sponsorship at this time
Bonus
- Experience in game development pipelines
- Interest in narrative-driven or experimental games
Work Format
- Remote (global team across US & China)
- ~20 hours/week (flexible)

- Implement and optimize UI systems using Unity (C#)
- Improve UX flow based on playtesting feedback
- Debug and fix UI-related issues
- Collaborate with artists and designers to integrate UI assets
- Prototype new interface features and interactions
Requirements
- Experience with Unity and C#
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles in games
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Passion for games and interactive design
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
